Dianella tasmanica variegata or flax lily, is a evergreen plant native of Tasmania, South Eastern Australia.

It is a bush with sword shaped green leaves in contract with yellow stripes . Usually the plant can reach 40 cm of height and it is very used to create borders , mass planting near pools or to fill with color big garden beds.

The flower on long stems is light blue and appears is early Summer and Summer. The plant will be colored by ornamental dark blue berries from Autumn to Winter .

Dianella tasmanica variegata prefers semi-shaded places and has a good resistance to salinity. It prefers drained and humid soils. Once established, it no need steadily water but it is possible to water occasionally ; water more in very heat conditions.
