Leucophyllum Frutescens , is an evergreen bush native of Mexico and Texas

Leucophyllum frutescens is very appreciated for the amazing contrast between the grey leaves and the purple flowers. It blooms in summer when other plants are stopped by the high temperature. Flowers appear in early Summer up to late Summer, beginning of Autumn.

The plant is a bush can reach 1.80 mt of height and 1 mt of width.

Leucophyllum frutescens naturally grows in calcareous soils slopes. This feature make it a plant good for xeriscaping with its resistance to dryness and even to low temperature (more than -10°C). So we can add to leucophyllum frutescens even a winter interest.

It is used in garden area with sun exposure, for hedges and bordures. It has a showy effects along driveways.

Leucophyllum frutescens has not serious disease problems in good growing conditions. It can not resist to salinity.
