Photinia × fraseri ‘Red Robin’

Photinia × fraseri is a large, hybrid evergreen shrub that typically grows to 4-5 meters tall. Leathery, elliptic to oval, dark green leaves with finely serrated margins are evergreen.

In spring it grows bronze to copper-red leaves, in a showy display lasting about 2-3 weeks. Red leaves gradually change to glossy dark green. Small, 5-petaled, white flowers bloom in late April.

Flowers have a very unpleasant aroma. Fruit is a red pome that persists throughout winter to spring.

Grow in fertile, humus-rich soil in sun or partial shade, in winter it resists even below -10-15°C.
